NCFC Youth Teams up with Ray Provencher Memorial Scholarship Fund to Support Team Fee Financial Assistance to Families

NCFC Youth distributes more than $500,000 in financial aid to qualifying players and families across all levels of play each year. Financial Aid is in place to support filling the gap between what a family can afford to pay and the required club fees at each level of play. NCFC Youth has grown its financial aid fund more than 500% over the past decade through our continued and increasing commitment to grow the game and benefits of participation to more youth in our community.

As a 501c3 non-profit organization, NCFC Youth fundraises throughout the year through various events, welcomes sponsorships, and accepts individual and corporate donations to support the financial aid fund. Most recently, the club’s annual golf tournament fundraiser presented by TowneBank on April 14 raised more than $45,000, and the inaugural Beyond the Pitch fundraiser at the Angus Barn in October 2024 raised $200,000 for financial aid.

Many in the soccer community know that the family and financial commitment for their children to play competitive youth sports goes beyond the fee to play when you start adding in travel, tournaments, equipment, and more.

Over the past few seasons, NCFC Youth has teamed up with the Ray Provencher Memorial Scholarship Fund to provide additional team fee financial assistance to competitive level (Classic and above) players. Through its financial aid fund, NCFC Youth provides referrals for the family of the late Ray Provencher to consider for additional financial assistance. Each year the scholarship fund provides significant team fee financial assistance and a $300 soccer.com gift card to several players to support their team fees and soccer uniforms or equipment.

About the Ray Provencher Memorial Scholarship Fund:

NCFC Youth alum (Marcel and Etienne Provencher) both played in the early years of the club in the late 70s and early 80s. Their dad, Ray, was an early committed volunteer for the teams his sons played on and for the organization. When Ray passed away, in 2022, the Provencher family set up a scholarship fund to honor their dad’s memory. As they reflected on their dad’s involvement and commitment to their own playing days, Marcel and Etienne realized how much of a family sacrifice and investment it can be to play at competitive levels.
