Spectrum News Highlights Financial Aid Fund

RALEIGH, N.C. (February 28th, 2024) - Spectrum News recently highlighted our commitment to make the game accessible for all in an interview with NC Courage Academy player Aven Alvarez, and her mom, Laura Alvarez, where they discussed Aven's time with NCFC Youth and how the financial aid fund has impacted their family. The financial aid fund was established to provide increased opportunities for children to participate in soccer.

“We don’t want there being any barriers to kids being able to play,” said Chief Marketing and Development Officer Katharine Eberhardt. “You know, in the case of the Alvarez family, the husband is serving our country, and so, single-parent household for the next six months, and so for us to be able to support that family, for the kids to come out here and have some normalcy, that’s what this is all about.”

Alvarez highlighted her time with the club, saying, "Huge honor to be a part of this club and team. It’s always really competitive and super fun. Definitely look forward to coming out here every single day and spending the time with my teammates and learning from the coaches.”
