Meet our Fall Interns!

We are excited to introduce our Fall Interns! Meet Summer Pence (Marketing Intern) and Amber McCorkle (Tournaments and Events Intern) Read below to learn more about them, and what lead them to becoming interns at NCFC Youth.

Hey y’all, my name is Summer Pence, and I am so excited to be working with NCFC Youth this fall as a Marketing Intern. I am a current sophomore at NC State University where I am in the process of switching my major to sports management with a minor in coaching education. During my first year at NC State, I was able to work with NC State Athletics as a photographer, and I instantly fell in love with the world of sports media. Since then I have done social media, content creation, and photography for a volleyball club in Raleigh and a baseball team in the ONSL. To put it short, I love the sports world. When I saw NCFC Youth was hiring a marketing intern, I was beyond excited to apply. As a former NCFC Youth player, some of my favorite childhood memories came from playing soccer. I am so excited to be able to give back to the organization that did so much for me.

Hi! My name is Amber McCorkle, and I’m so excited to be working with NCFC Youth as a Tournaments and Events Intern this fall. I graduated from Loyola Marymount University in December 2023 with a bachelor’s degree in marketing. My prior internships include a marketing internship with technology services provider Argano and an operations internship with a baseball team in New Bern, NC. Soccer has always been an integral part of my life, as both a player and fan, and I played D1 soccer during college. I am so excited to be working in the sport and know how impactful youth soccer can be on personal and professional development.
